On June 1st, the Serving Our Troops team traveled once again to Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo with delicious 12-ounce steaks in hand and a message of support from home. While in Kosovo, our team cooked the steaks to order for our Guard Members, with entertainment provided by Austin, MN native Martin Zellar.
Back home at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, our local team served an equally delicious meal for families and friends – complete with ice cold beverages and entertainment by Booker Mini and Paddywagon. Joined by volunteers and community officials from across Minnesota, over 900 family members were on hand for a true show of support from Saint Paul, Rochester, and communities across Southeastern Minnesota.
Most importantly, a live, two-way video link for families was on hand for family members and soldiers to speak directly with one another and for the two full events to be linked – Sunday dinner with the family.
