St. Paul to Fort McCoy      July 10th, 2011

Serving Our Troops  completed its 8th project on Sunday, July 10th, 2011 at Fort McCoy in Sparta, Wisconsin.

With more than 2,300 Minnesota National Guard soldiers from the 34th Red Bull Infantry being called for service to Kuwait, Serving Our Troops and a full team of volunteers provided a sincere message of thanks and support to the Minnesota National Guard members and their families prior to their deployment overseas.

Over 6,000 soldiers and family members joined together - with family members traveling from across Minnesota to be with their loved ones on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Similar to past projects "Saint Paul to Camp Shelby" and "Saint Paul to Fort Sill," the massive outdoor event featured a steak dinner with all the trimmings, ice cold beverages from Coca-Cola and the August Schell's Brewery, entertainment from Minnesota musicians including The Gear Daddies, visits from numerous community leaders, and much more.

It's a simple thing...dinner with the family.
